Alex Valdez's journey in journalism began with a deep curiosity about the world around him and a desire to make sure people are informed, empowered, and heard. Over the past 8 years, he worked across multiple markets, from the southern border to the Deep South, covering everything from breaking news and severe weather to local politics and human interest stories.
He believes some of the most powerful stories come from listening, really listening, to the people in our communities. That’s why Alex approaches every assignment with empathy, strong research, and a commitment to digging deeper.
